Studio Q&A

What do you provide?

We are an hourly-rate studio that provides the basics: sewing machines, sergers, dress forms, and cutting space, as well as plethora of the "Wow, I really wish I hadn't left ____ at home" items like scissors, measuring tapes, rulers, chalk, and more.  

 

What should I bring with me?

Well, first and foremost, your fabulous self! Other than that, whatever you need to complete your project! We have some basics available free of charge (listed above).  

 

Are there any rules?

R-E-S-P-E-C-T, sing it, Aretha! "Respect" is pretty all encompassing in our opinion, but to break it down for you:

  • Please respect your fellow seamsters by keeping your sewing sprawl to a minimum so that others can use the space as well.

  • Please be VERY careful with drinks, dye, irons, pens, paint, etc - anything that has the possibility of ruining someone's project they are working on.

  • Please respect our staff's time, we are of course here to help you whenever you need, but if you are in over your head and needing a lot of time, let us help you find one of our many classes to help you on your way.

Above all we want you to have an amazingly fun time in our space and we are here to encourage your obsession love of sewing and other wearable arts!  

 

What if I get stuck, will someone be able to help me?

Well that's the beauty of Made. We are all about educating you! Although we have a plethora of classes, we also know that sometimes, you are just stuck, and need a bit of help. So we are here for you - while you are in the studio we are always available to help, and if we don't know the answer, we'll find out!  

 

Can I reserve a machine?

Yes and no. During the week we will take machine reservations. On the weekends, however, due to the volume of sewing peeps in the studio, machines will be used on a first come, first serve basis.

 

What if I sign up for a class and then can't attend?

If you can't attend, have no fear! Let us know 72 hours (due to high demand, 2 weeks for kid camps) in advance and we will happily refund you or switch your payment over to another class. If you let us know after that, sadly, we will not be able to offer refunds or exchanges, as we need to ensure our teachers are compensated for their time and that other patrons don't miss the chance to fill open class spots.
