We know how hard it is to walk into and art store with a list of supplies that you don't understand. It can be daunting and frustrating. Honestly, sometimes we don't even want to go into those stores. lol. So we are here for you! Our teachers have created box kits that have all the supplies you would need that you wouldn't already have at home. Below is a list of what is in the kit, and what you will need to provide. 


Included in the Science of Art Box Kit:

  • 6 oz of washable glue
  • a heaping tablespoon of iron particles
  • 1 neodymium magnet
  • 1 oz of 5 colors of liquid watercolor each
  • 30 jumbo craft sticks
  • A craft tube
  • A variety of colored paper, googly eyes, mini pom poms, and other decorative ephemera
  • Mirrored posterstock
  • 1 large plate
  • Two small plates
  • 1 chopstick
  • 2 large jingle bells
  • 3 smaller jingle bells
  • Bakers twine
  • Cotton cord
  • 1 plastic cup
  • A variety of colors of tissue paper
  • A couple of balloons
  • 2 rubber bands
  • 2 toothpicks
  • A container with tacky glue
  • Cotton yarn 
  • 2 paper clips
  • 2 print outs for paper helicopters
  • 1 print out for a mermaid, narwal, or shark top
  • 1 straw
  • 1 needle 


NOT Included in the Box KIt:

WEEK ONE (4/1)

  • Liquid starch, like StaFlo
  • 1 16 oz or larger container to mix slime in
  • 1 spoon for mixing
  • 1 16 oz or larger covered container for slime storage
  • Tape
  • Markers, crayons, and colored pencils to decorate with
  • Scissors

WEEK TWO (4/8)

  • 8 cups to hold the craft sticks as they dye (this is a multi-day process, and plastic cups at least 8 oz in size are recommended)
  • 1 cut up brown paper shopping bag to place the craft sticks on to dry
  • Scissors
  • Glue Stick
  • Lo Temp Hot glue gun (can use tacky glue if you really don’t want the gun, but the gun will be very helpful)
  • Tape


  • Paint brushes
  • Cup with water for paint
  • Any type of opaque paint
  • 1 piece of paper
  • Liquid Starch, or sta flo
  • Pencil 
  • Scissors 

 WEEK FOUR (4/22)

  • 1/2 to 1 cup of dry rice or beans
  • 1 small cup with around a 2-3” base (will not be used in project, is only a template for marking a circle, so any cup or glass will do)
  • Lo Temp Hot glue gun (can use tacky glue if you really don’t want the gun, but the gun will be helpful)
  • Tape

WEEK FIVE (4/29)

  • Any type of opaque paint
  • an old egg container
  • if egg container top has holes, either cereal box cardboard or an old toilet roll
  • scissors
  • tacky glue or hot glue
  • paper
